NaiDunia Group appoints Arpan Chatterjee as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer
NaiDunia Group has announced the appointment of Mr. Arpan Chatterjee as its Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Mr. Chatterjee has had a distinguished sales and marketing career spanning over 12 years. His successful stints included media companies in the print, new technology and internet space with the last one at CyberMedia's Online Tech Job Portal as Associate Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Support. |
Welcoming Mr. Chatterjee on board, the NaiDunia group CEO and Director Vinay Chhajlani said, "Arpan's well-rounded experience in print and internet space, his enthusiasm and vast customer contacts made him an ideal choice for this position as both NaiDunia and Webdunia execute an aggressive growth strategy."
The 60-year old Indore-headquartered newspaper, NaiDunia is executing an aggressive expansion having grown from single edition in Indore two years ago to six editions (to include Gwalior, Bhopal and Jabalpur in MP and Bilaspur and Raipur in Chhatisgarh). The circulation figures have more than tripled in the last 2 years to over half a million copies.
Commenting on his new assignment at the two NaiDunia group companies--NaiDunia newspaper and Webdunia portal--Mr. Chatterjee said, "The NaiDunia assignment for me this is a homecoming. The online and print properties have recoded manifold growth in the last few years. My new role allows me to leverage my experience to actively contribute to the growth plans of NaiDunia's integrated media offerings."
Webdunia, India's largest multi-lingual portal, Webdunia is present in 9 languages and offers email service in 11 languages. The traffic and users, both, at the portal have been growing at 6-8 per cent month with over 80 million page views per month.
In Mr Chatterjee's first term with the NaiDunia group, he spent over 3 years driving sales at Webdunia between 2000 and 2004. He will be headquartered in Mumbai.
