India’s first multi-lingual portal in nine languages, Webdunia, has launched MyWebdunia.com, a pioneering move that makes blogging possible in regional languages.
Webdunia.com, has just launched the beta version that enables users to blog as well as to create their own portals.

Announcing the launch of the new blogging platform, Mr. Pankaj Jain, COO of Webdunia said, “Webdunia has created a robust platform that allows users to express their views and creativity in multiple forms. The users can create their own polls, discussion fora as well as photo, audio and video galleries so as to network with their groups.

“The user can decide to throw open her or his web pages to a select few friends or to the entire world wide web. The choice of 10 languages in which the users wish to express themselves is truly amazing. The user is truly the king in MyWebdunia,” Mr Jain added.

The beta version of MyWebdunia has received an overwhelming response from early users. As Webdunia launches more features in the months to come we expect a surge in interactions.

With MyWebdunia users can create their own polls, discussion boards, photo, audio and video galleries as well as network with their own groups. All the users are linked so that there is a rating system for highest views. The privacy features enable the blogger to make a private portal or a public portal. The best part is that all this comes absolutely free to the users.

Mr Jaideep Karnik, Chief Content Officer, Webdunia said, “Webdunia’s biggest motivator for launching MyWebdunia is not only to keep the passion of the language users alive but to fuel it. We firmly believe that as India globalizes as an economic power, we need to share and grow the richness of its native Indian languages, art, culture and above all our heritage using this modern medium.”

The response so far has been good with over 1,000 netizens making a blogging on MyWebdunia in 9/10 languages.

Webdunia is mulling a revenue sharing mechanism with the bloggers, which will make it attractive for users to have their own web pages, using the MyWebdunia platform, in a language of their own choice.
